STEPS
FOR WATER DAMAGE RECOVERY
- Inspection
and Assessment: A Steamatic recovery specialist
will spring into action immediately following a call
from you or your insurance agent/adjuster. We will inspect
and
document structural, content, and related damage and
produce a ‘SCOPE-OF-WORK’ and COST ESTIMATE
for recovery and restoration. Flood, storm, or accidental
damage is
usually not as destructive as it may first appear. Many
precious and other possessions can be restored to their
pre-damage condition. Upon approval, our work can begin
quickly, if not immediately!
- Water
Removal: It is critical that any standing water be removed
as quickly as possible.
This will not only prevent
further damage to the structure and affected contents,
but this will also reduce the spread and/or growth
of dangerous
microbial contaminants.
- Dehumidification: Immediately following the removal of any standing water,
dehumidifiers
are activated to
ensure the rapid removal of dangerous humidity. Humidity
is removed
and warm, dried air is returned and circulated by the
aid of high velocity air moving equipment.
- Contents: Precious and valuable items must be stabilized as quickly
as possible. Emergency preservation techniques
and systems are immediately employed for at risk
items such as electronics, papers, and fragile fabrics & other
delicate items. Steamatic will then evaluate all
items to determine
whether or not each item can be cost-effectively
restored.
- Pack
Out: To aid in content and structural restoration,
it is necessary that we remove most—if not
all—of
the home, office, or industrial contents. Contents
will be inventoried, documented, and made ready
for pack-out. Once
packed or prepared, items/contents are then transported
to the STEAMATIC RESTORATION FACILITY for specialized
treatment,
recovery, restoration, and then storage until the
rest of the restoration process is complete.
- Environmental
Monitoring: Steamatic recovery specialists will
closely monitor the affected indoor
environment
to insure rapid humidity reduction and environmental
stabilization.
We use specialized equipment that can read moisture
content in wood, concrete, and other common materials
found in
your
structure.
- Structure: All facets of the restoration process can apply
to a damaged structure
(some listed above). Cleaning, decontamination,
and deodorization is performed from top to bottom to ensure
effective restoration. In addition to our patented equipment,
processes and techniques, Steamatic produces it’s own
line of proprietary—PROVEN—chemicals and systems
for safe and extremely effective restoration.
- Final
Inspection: Upon completion of work, you and your Steamatic
specialist
will perform a final inspection to ensure
that structural restoration is complete. Packed-out items
are then returned and inspected. A final ‘WORK-COMPLETE’ statement
will then be delivered to you and/or your insurance provider.
